The machine manufacturers suggest that you descale your machine once per every 300 brews or so. Descaling is an essential part of maintaining your machine since it removes calcium deposits that have built up inside the machine. Calcium deposits can lead to poor performance and ultimately, an early grave for your lovely coffee maker.
